Ottawa Tamil Seniors Association - ஒட்டாவா முது தமிழர் சங்கம் Who We Are The Ottawa Tamil Seniors Association (OTSA) is a non-profit organization incorporated under the Ontario Corporations Act on August 25, 2006 . OTSA is dedicated to providing support and services to Tamil seniors living in the Ottawa region, with the goal of promoting their health, well-being, and social integration within the community. OTSA offers a wide range of programs and services designed to enhance the quality of life of Tamil seniors. The organization is supported by a committed team of volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to serve the needs of this growing community. Key Services and Activities 1. Social and Recreational Programs OTSA organizes various social and recreational activities for seniors, including cultural events, fitness programs, and group excursions. 2. Educational Programs Educational sessions are offered on topics such as health and wellness, financial planning, and technology literacy. 3. Volunteer Opportunities OTSA provides opportunities for seniors to give back to the community through mentoring initiatives and community service projects. 4. Advocacy and Outreach The organization actively advocates for the needs and interests of Tamil seniors while raising awareness about issues affecting this population. 5. Information and Referral Services OTSA assists seniors in accessing government programs and community resources through information and referral services. Membership and Organizational Structure The Ottawa Tamil Seniors Association has over 200 senior members and more than 20 associate junior members (under 50 years of age). Among them, 40 to 50 able and healthy seniors actively volunteer to provide physical assistance to those in need. OTSA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 11 members . Officers include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and eight Directors . In addition, the Board appoints six Coordinators to support the plan
